There is a thrill within this quote by Rumi. I’ve always thought of this quote very deeply, it stays by far one of my favourite quotes. What was Rumi trying to say through these lines, maybe non-judgement, maybe love, maybe something else? Let’s explore this in detail.

When we get wrapped up in the ideas of right and wrong we miss out on one important thing, involvement. We forget to see things as they are because right and wrong depend on our perception of reality. Which is obviously a biased one. Do you know what it’s like to see situations, as they are, not labelling them? Would you not be experiencing life and what it has to offer? Would you not be immersed in the present with total involvement? What would happen then? Your life will begin to shift because you’re no longer in the shackles of right & wrong ideas proposed by society but in life experience itself. Your life will be exuberant and you’ll see that happen all around you.

What is love? A broad topic but in the context of this quote, what is love? Does it mean banishing the actions and conditions surrounding the lovers? Does it mean seeing someone for their character and not their actions? Do you feel love or Are you love? Do you need someone to experience love? Love is beyond, beyond the daily quarrels of who’s right and who’s wrong, beyond the needs and wants, beyond the physical and mental, beyond everything that erupts desire. Because love is boundless, it is something you don’t want to define for it will then lose its purpose. Love is you, your intrinsic quality is love. The more you find out about the love within yourself the more you’ll experience around you. It is endless, just go beyond right and wrong, you’ll be amazed to see what you’ll find.
